Big event in these parts. Claire learned how to ride a bicycle this weekend! The photo is blurry because I had to run to keep up with her. She’s got a need for speed, lol! Just as we did with Sam, we put her on a bicycle without pedals and without training wheels. She used [...]

I’m excited. I finished my first lined jacket and learned so much from tackling this challenging project. I’m also annoyed because it doesn’t fit as nicely as my muslin suggested it would. It’s too snug across the chest. I’m uncertain if this was caused by poor sewing or if the thicker fabric and lining naturally [...]

Dawn dared us to post the results of a visit to dailymakeover.com to our blogs. What a riot!!!! Here’s me after I stuck my finger in the light socket: Curls aren’t for me, but the color isn’t bad! This is almost cute: Who needs to see, really? Here I am as a teenage boy: A [...]

Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn't really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. That's because they were able to connect experiences they've had and synthesize new things.

    • February Lady Sweater 14 March 2014

02/17/13 - It’s definitely on the small side. I would prefer more ease, but think I’ll get some wear out of this sweater. I also think it may have been a poor choice in project for me. While it was fun to knit, the FO reminds me a little too much of maternity wear. On to BIGGER and BETTER things :)

02/12/13 - Unblocked, this fits my 8 yo daughter. Hopefully, it will fit me post-blocking. I don’t usually use this many pins when blocking a sweater, but I’m determined to boss my knitting around.

If it fits me, when done, then that’s ok. If it fits my daughter when done, that’s ok too. If it fits neither of us, I’m going to be a sad little knitter.

When I cast on for this, I was concerned about the super wash yarn growing a lot during the blocking process. Now that I’ve mostly knit the sweater, I’m concerned that it’s not going to grow enough. It’s rather small.
