With all of the pattern alteration work I’ve been doing lately, I’ve started to feel very unproductive. I know this is not actually the case, because those customized patterns are going to be real treasures in the future, but it’s easy for me to get a little blue about not having any “finished” items to show for all that effort.
Quick and easy projects are fantastic for curing that! Yesterday I cut and sewed these boxer shorts for my husband.
They turned out great and were much easier than I expected. The fly was ridiculously easy–much easier than flies in pants with zippers. It’d be easy (and fun) to crank out half a dozen of these. I’m keeping that in mind for Christmas!
Robert still has to try them on so I can adjust the elastic, but other than that, they’re good to go.
I also finished a trio of cute little soft sculptures. I can’t really show them to you, because they’re meant to be gifts for some friends, but you can get a taste of the lively colors I used.
I’ll show you a real picture of the finished items as soon as the recipients have them in their clutches. I’m thinking about making a second batch of these…just as soon as I get more polyfil.
