Claire’s New Dress
Sewing / Posted on April 25th, 2009
I just finished a cute dress for Claire and she’s delighted with it. That is cause for celebration!
This dress was made using a Portabellopixie pattern called Claire. How funny is that?
I wanted to make an apron as shown in the pattern pictures, but Claire put her foot down. There was no way she would wear a dress with an apron on it.
Good grief, Mom, what could you have been thinking??
I was thinking it looked cute–and fun to sew, but restrained myself and made the outfit sans apron. I couldn’t resist a little embellishment, though, and made a fabric yo-yo brooch.
You can read my full review of the pattern on Pattern Review.

Claire looks so darling in her new dress. Very cute with or without the apron! I am an apron/pinafore gal myself.

I had to laugh at the apron part. I remember one of my girls telling me, “I’M NOT HOLLY HOBBY, YOU KNOW!”
You did a great job on this, it’s adorable (apron or not)!

That is the sweetest dress I ever did see. It makes me want to learn to sew!
So pretty!

That is really cute. And I love the brooch.

Sweet! What a great job! Love the way the colours are soft and yet have energy to them.

It’s adorable. And a very cute model, as well.
