A Mother’s Love

Perhaps It’s just me, but I think they’re ridiculously cute in this photo:
Everyone say “awwww.”
I’ve really enjoyed taking photos with my new camera, but have felt limited with the focal range of my current lenses. I’ve talked it over with Robert and he has been sweet enough to give me the go-ahead to look into purchasing a new lens. I’m torn between getting something in the telephoto range (the Canon 70-200 f/4L), which my brother thinks I should get, or something better for macros, such as the Canon 100 mm f/2.8. I’m also looking at a replacement for the kit lens, which has Image Stabilization. With my shaky hands, I’d love to have a lense with that feature!
I wanted to rent one or two of the lenses I’ve been looking at and use them this weekend when I go to photograph the Seattle Tilth Edible Plant Sale. Now, I’m not so sure. I received a surly response to a question I emailed to my local camera store and am not sure I want to do business with them. Dilemmas, dilemmas…
Eating Local
Uncategorized May 1st, 2006
One of my new year’s resolutions was to make more homemade meals for my family using predominantly organic and/or local ingredients whenever possible. I’ve floundered a little bit with this project, but tried to get back into the spirit of things this weekend. Here’s an asparagus quiche I made following a recipe in “Simply in Season.” It uses local eggs, asparagus and my own home-grown rosemary. The salad you see in the corner was also harvested from my garden. Delicious!
