Visions of Infinity
I bought too many plants for our flower beds. In the past, I’ve typically bought too few plants, which resulted in a skimpy looking display. That’s not going to happen this year. I’m actually having trouble finding places to cram all the plants in. If only Robert would finish the planter in the back yard, my problem would be solved. He’s just not going to have time to do that, however, until after school is over. I can’t wait another couple of weeks, especially since I’ll be working full-time then. :flowerhat:
I’ve been slaving away at my garden for the past two days, in between doing loads of laundry and comforting crying children. Sam has tried to help me out, unfortunately, his version of helping involved directing the spray from the garden hose on plants, buildings, cars, unsuspecting squirrels and birds…and yes, PEOPLE…namely me and Claire, who did not appreciate being soaked with ice-cold water.
It’s kind of funny in retrospect.
I’m still not finished with planting the flowers, but I’ve been granted a reprieve in the form of nasty weather today. Since I’m not into mud wrestling snapdragons, I’m going to spend the day indoors, which means knitting, of course! In between my home improvement projects, I have made a little progress on Air. To finish the back, I have miles of moss stitch to knit. Even though I’m at the armhole shapings, the end never looked so far off. Moss stitch is slow going, but I do like how it looks!
I wish you could see the cables better in the photograph. I feel like I’ve done a better job on them than on the cables I’ve worked in the past. I have concentrated really hard on preventing loose stitches next to the purled bands. The piece definitely needs to be blocked though, so the cables stand out more.
I’ve been a little disappointed with one of my balls of Calmer yarn. The first was beautiful, but the second has had several knotted ends in it and ugly lumpy bits. When I spend over $10 on a ball of yarn, I expect it to be in better condition. GRR.
I have officially given up on Anouk. My stitches were uneven and my gauge was way off. I wasn’t enjoying struggling with it so much. Since I have less than two weeks before I return to work, I vowed not to waste my time on things that were making me feel miserable. I have quite a few baby projects in my to-do basket that I’ll enjoy working on more, so I might as well devote myself to them, right?
Psst…there’s a new poll in the sidebar!
