One Size Fits All

The pattern for this hat stated that one size fits all. Claire begs to differ…
At least I managed to use of the last of this nasty acrylic yarn! When seen on its own (and if you’re color-blind), the hat is kind of cute.

I’m now on a quest to find a pattern for a baby hat that I like better. It’s been windy lately and I want to keep Claire nice and warm.
Knitty Day
Cooking, Knitting April 11th, 2004
I had a fantastic day on Friday. After I dropped Sam off at daycare, I met Jessica and Theresa at Nana’s Soup Kitchen in Wedgewood. We had a lovely time knitting and chatting together for a few hours. Jessica worked on Lottie, a project from Debbie Bliss’ cotton angora collection. I’m now itching to get my hands on a copy of that book, so I can start working on one or two of the sweaters. Mary and Mia are my favorites. I really like their styling and unusual closures. Gorgeous.
I knit a few rows on Audrey. I didn’t mess up too much of it, even with all the talking we did. I only had to frog seven rows, lol! I’ve decided to knit the decreases and increases as indicated by the pattern. I know some knitters object to the general “lumpiness” of the decreases and increases and believe they can be worked into the sweater in a more elegant fashion. They may be right, but the triangle-shaped darts remind me of darts in dressmaking, which appeal to me.
Meanwhile, my mother shamed me into working on Elfin. I think she’s even more excited to see the finished project than I am. Of course, she doesn’t have the prospect of casting on over 600 stitches for one of the front bands staring her in the face.
