Ms. Knits-a-Lot

Published by Amy at 12:11 pm under Knitting

I did A LOT of knitting over the weekend. When the weather outside is frightful, and you’re feeling too rotten to do much else, knitting is the perfect distraction. I finished the second sleeve on the Sweater from Hell and wove in a lot of ends. It’s all ready to be (a) mended; (b) blocked; and (c) stitched up. I’m not going to photograph it again until it actually looks like something (if it ever does). Who knows, I may finish my first sweater by the end of the week…and I’ll be glad to move onto a much prettier creation.

I also managed to get quite a bit done on my sock. I figured out how to turn a heel. Yay me! The striping didn’t turn out quite as nice on the heel area though and there’s one section across the instep where two stripes of the same color are right next to each other. I’m also concerned that I may have made the upper part and heel flap a little too long so I may run out of yarn…we’ll see soon enough!

I also made a pretty good beginning on the booga bag (if you don’t count the two times I failed to read the pattern completely and knit the bottom in stockinette stitch rather than garter stitch).

I’ve got these little projects all packed up and ready for our journey to Montana. We’re going to leave after work and probably won’t arrive until near midnight. This usually works better for us since Sam conks out pretty quickly and doesn’t grow too cranky from being forced to sit still for 7 hours or so. I just hope the roads won’t be too snowy. We have to go over several mountain passes! If I don’t manage to write again until next week, I hope everyone has a very happy Thanksgiving holiday!
