I got sick yesterday morning and am feeling queasy again today. I thought that I would be over this morning sickness by now, but apparently not. Please tell me this isn?t going to last the entire pregnancy! Ugh.
It?s raining and pouring here today. I have to admit to being perversely delighted by this stormy weather. It?s so?exciting! Sam was thrilled with the rain splattering on his head too. It was all I could do to keep him out of the puddles on our way to daycare this morning. If we had had time and nowhere to go, I would have taken him puddle jumping.

Robert and I stayed up really late last night watching The Matrix: Reloaded. We tried starting it earlier in the evening, but Sam demanded a lot of attention, so we eventually gave up and did other things until he was ready to go to bed. I didn?t like it nearly as much as I liked the first one. I?m not a prude, but I found the sex scenes waaaaaaaaaay too drawn out and they interfered with the progress of the story for me.
The one thing I do like about the Matrix movies, besides the stylistic effects (movement, speech, etc.), is the fact that the characters all have some sort of philosophy they’re grappling with–that they’re trying to understand what “reality” is. I also like all the allusions made to our own body of literature, i.e. “Zion,” “Trinity” and “Nebuchadnezer” (however you speel that–he was a king who defeated Jerusalem and rebuilt Babylon). When thinking about all this, I happened onto this website. Funny, eh? I also thought it was interesting that the name of the wife of the evil guy who had the keymaster imprisoned was named “Persephone.” ala the Greek Girl who had been kidnapped by Hades, the god of the underworld. He only let her return to the land of the living during the spring and the summer. Anyway, the movie gave me a lot of interesting ideas to explore when I have more time…

Since there’s only a month to go before the ultrasound, I thought it would be fun to test out a couple of gender prediction methods. The first one I tried is based on the Chinese calendar method. It said I’d be having a girl. The second method was based on a handful of old wive’s tales. According to it, I have a 53% chance of having a girl and a 47% chance of having a boy. Now, while these tests both say I’m going to be having a girl, I want to point out that EVERYONE (including the grocery store clerk) thought I’d be having a girl last time and I ended up having Sammy (who is anything but feminine)!
