Second Doctor's Appointment
I had my second doctor’s appointment yesterday. It was supposed to be the momentous occasion when I would hear my baby?s heartbeat for the first time, but unfortunately, we couldn?t hear anything (other than my own heartbeat and a few gurglings of my tummy?it was close to lunch time). I tried my hardest not to panic. Surely the baby was OK.
The doctor decided to do another ultrasound. The baby had grown a lot. No longer was it just a tiny speck on the monitor. The baby measured at 10 weeks and 3 days?and sure enough, we could see the heart beating steadily away. My doctor said that the baby was really far back in my uterus, which explained why we couldn?t hear the heartbeat. She said everything looked great!
