This entry is really not worth reading. I’m just feeling sorry for myself. I’ll get over it soon. I promise.

This Sucks
General December 20th, 2002
My husband and I were sitting on the couch last night having an animated “discussion.” While we were volleying comments back and forth, Sam crawled all over us. We continued talking over him–and if he obstructed our view of one another for even a second, we’d lean over so we could maintain eye contact. We weren’t deliberately trying to ignore the little guy. We were just very intent on our conversation.
I believe my voice grew rather strident at one point and I know I had to move around a lot to keep my husband in my eyesight. Some very blurry object kept zooming in towards my face and I kept moving to avoid it…talking the entire time.
After a minute of this, my husband gestured for me to look at the unidentified flying object. The instant I looked away from him, I had a binky forcefully inserted into my mouth. Apparently, Sam thought I was upset and needed all the solace a binky could offer. Of course, I had to make exaggerated Maggie Simpson-esque sucking noises to show Sam that I was, in fact, enjoying his prized possession which he had so graciously shared with me. This made him giggle hysterically, which caused Robert and I to start laughing too. All three of us ended up laughing so hard we could hardly stop.
Ahh…life with a toddler ![]()
Holiday Greetings
Uncategorized December 19th, 2002
I finally mailed out all my Christmas cards yesterday evening. Hopefully they?ll get to their various destinations before Easter! I?ve received some wonderful cards from Becky, Lee, Elizabeth, Jaya, & Dani. Thank you so much!! I also received packages from Alicia and Cheryl. I?m really looking forward to opening Alicia?s present on Christmas day. I intended to save Cheryl?s for the holiday as well, but the tape gave way as I lifted the gift from the box, and being a weak-willed person, I couldn?t help but take a look Thank you soooo much for the books, Cheryl! They look really interesting. I started reading the Alaskan book on the way to work today. Also, I need to warn you that I may be stealing your idea for a Christmas greeting next year. Heh heh? The page of photos was great. I hung it up on our bulletin board so I can enjoy it every time I walk past it. I?m overwhelmed by everyone?s generosity and wish I had been better organized this year to reciprocate beyond a silly little card.
