This survey found at About the Tree… 1. When do you put up the Christmas Tree? The first or second week in December. 2. Real or Fake? Real 3. Lights? Yes, the rainbow variety. 4. Garland? In the past, we’ve used a garland of red and gold stars–since it’s rather fragile and we have [...]

I started to update Sam’s wishlist in anticipation of all the holiday gift-shopping we’ll be doing soon, but found it unexpectedly difficult. He has almost everything a boy his age could want! Spoiled little brat! :boggled: I ended up picking out a few puzzles, another shape-sorting toy, an intriguing toy for pounding on, and a [...]

On Friday, it dawned on me how imminent my parents’ arrival for the holidays was, which meant I better get busy and start cleaning the house. Under no circumstances is cleaning the house an easy and pleasurable task, but it’s just become monumentally more difficult than ever. Example #1: I hate vacuuming. I especially hate [...]

Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn't really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. That's because they were able to connect experiences they've had and synthesize new things.

    • February Lady Sweater 14 March 2014

02/17/13 - It’s definitely on the small side. I would prefer more ease, but think I’ll get some wear out of this sweater. I also think it may have been a poor choice in project for me. While it was fun to knit, the FO reminds me a little too much of maternity wear. On to BIGGER and BETTER things :)

02/12/13 - Unblocked, this fits my 8 yo daughter. Hopefully, it will fit me post-blocking. I don’t usually use this many pins when blocking a sweater, but I’m determined to boss my knitting around.

If it fits me, when done, then that’s ok. If it fits my daughter when done, that’s ok too. If it fits neither of us, I’m going to be a sad little knitter.

When I cast on for this, I was concerned about the super wash yarn growing a lot during the blocking process. Now that I’ve mostly knit the sweater, I’m concerned that it’s not going to grow enough. It’s rather small.
