Homecoming

Robert’s home! Yay! Sam practically flew into his arms last night when we met him in the baggage claim area at the airport. He was so excited to see his daddy. We both missed him so much.
On our way home, we stopped at Red Robin for dinner. Yum! I ordered my usual: the California Chicken burger. It’s messy to eat, but something about the combination of grilled chicken, avocado and swiss cheese really appeals to me. Robert strayed from his normal choice (What is that burger with an egg on top called? The Royal Red Robin Burger?) and had a cobb salad. It looked tasty too. Sam approved both of our selections and happily ate whatever we shared with him.
We were both too tired to do much when we got home. Sam went straight to bed and Robert and I curled up on the couch to watch MADD TV and Saturday Night Live. I watched the shows with my eyes closed.
This morning, Robert woke up when the baby started crying and took care of him so I could sleep in for a couple more hours. What luxury! I was badly in need of sleep. The past week really took a lot out of me. Now, I’m ready to take on the world!
We're In For It…

I had to run some errands this morning, so I packed Sammy in the car soon after we finished our mid-morning meal (also known as our second breakfast) and headed out. He did fine in the bank. He grinned at the tellers and they waved and winked back at him. As soon as we were back on the road, though, he fell asleep. I drove to Barnes and Noble where I planned to pick up a couple of birthday presents for him. He woke up briefly as I transferred him from his car seat to his stroller. He slept the entire time I was in the store and woke up again for a second while I transferred him back into his car seat.
When we got back home, though, he woke up and woke up for good. I put him in his crib for a few minutes, hoping he would conk out, but all he did was scream. So, this morning, instead of his usual two hour nap, he slept for only 30 minutes.
This is going to be an interesting day.
Friday Five

I’ve enjoyed reading my friend’s responses to the Friday Five (so far Lynda’s, Cheryl’s and Jenn’s) and thought I’d give it a try myself.
