Future Blackmail Material

Someday he’s going to hate me for this, but I couldn’t resist. He’s so cute!

Woo wee!

This is one of the many things I’ll use to embarrass him around his girlfriends! Tee hee!

Moveable Type Help

Uncategorized March 23rd, 2002

I jumped through all of the hoops as far as I can tell, but I’m having trouble publishing any pages with moveable type. I keep getting this error when I try to rebuild:

Writing to ‘/public_html/book/index.html.new’ failed: Opening ‘/public_html/book/index.html.new’ failed: No such file or directory

According to the help files, this is caused by having the directory’s permissions set incorrectly. Well, I’ve checked and double-checked and they’re set correctly. The other thing the help file suggested was turning off the temp file feature. I don’t want to do that :( Can someone help me troubleshoot this?

Whistle while you work? Bah humbug!

General March 22nd, 2002

Anticipating the arrival of guests sure does make you notice all that needs to be done around your house. Ever since I returned to work after Sam was born, I’ve had to make some sacrifices, one of which has been having a neat and tidy home. Consequently, a great deal needs to be done around my home. I really can’t invite anybody over while it’s in its current condition. I would die of shame!

Here’s what I need to do by Saturday evening:

1. Hire Martha Stewart. Buy Martha Stewart Living and become thoroughly depressed about the fact that I don’t iron my pillowcases correctly (or at all for that matter).

2. Hire a maid. Enlist Robert’s help.

3. Cut down and recycle boxes in which baby items were packed (right now we have the boxes in which the high chair and bathtub came in sitting in a corner of our living room. Lovely).

4. Weed the front yard. All of it.

5. Take down the Christmas lights (it would be nice to have this done by Easter).

6. Vacuum everything.

7. De-clutter tables and counters.

8. Hide the dirty laundry (under the bed? on the floor of the bedroom closet? No, don’t be silly. I won’t wash it before Saturday).

9. Sanitize bathroom from top to bottom.

10. Mop/scrub kitchen floor.

11. Clean out litter box.

12. Dust everything.

13. Empty all the trash bins.

14. Clean kitchen counters, sink, stovetop.

15. Pray for a visit from Mr. Clean.

16. Clean living room windows (if it ever stops raining and snowing).

17. File, throw away, shred or burn the mountain of papers on our dining room table.

18. Make the bed.

19. Kill anything growing in the refrigerator.

20. Plan and cook a world class meal.

This list was supposed to make me feel more in control of things. I’m not certain that it worked.
