A Good Weekend

This past weekend was quite an eventufl one. Saturday morning, I dressed Sammy up in a cute outfit and took him to Bellevue Square where we were to have his portrait taken with his cousins. That proved to be more of an adventure than I imagined it would be. The studio was utter chaos. It was crowded with other families who had decided that it would be a nice thing to have holiday portraits taken. No one seemed to be having a good time. Parents frantically attempted to keep their children from becoming too disheveled. Children were irked at being kept on such a tight reign. The photographers tried to appear enthusiastic, but it was obvious that they were exhausted. And it was only ten o’clock in the morning.

Sammy never did have his picture taken with his cousins. They wouldn’t sit still or smile for the camera. Zach, the one-year-old, threw an awful temper tantrum. I am so thankful Sammy is too young to be drawn into that kind of behavior. He smiled, but only half-heartedly, for his picture.

Afterwards, I took him on a walk through the mall. The highlight of the trip was FAO Schwarz. He enjoyed looking at the children running around madly and was fascinated with some of the brightly colored toys.

Yesterday was a nice day as well. Robert, Sam & I went to a neighborhood coffee shop for breakfast. While we sipped our lattes and read the newspaper, Sam had his bottle and watched the people sitting nearby.

Later on, when Sam was napping, we hung up the Christmas lights. Our house looks very festive now!

The most exciting part of the weekend took place after dinner. Sammy rolled over from his tummy to his back! Three times! After the initial shock wore off, he seemed to think it was a fun thing to do. Our little guy is growing up so quickly. Before we know it, he’ll be crawling…
