Preparing for Halloween

29 October, 2001 | Amy | No Comment

Robert and I have the will power of moths (shouldn’t go near the light, but it’s sooooo tempting…). I bought several sacks of candy for Halloween and hid them in the linen closet so we wouldn’t get into them. Robert found them, opened one of the sacks and started eating some candy. After chastising him, I held out my hand for a couple pieces of chocolate. It looks like I’m going to have to buy another sack of candy. Shame on us!

I finally got around to hanging up some decorations so the house looks welcoming to all the neighborhood kids. I plan on picking out a pumpkin or two today for carving into jack-o-lanterns. I love carving pumpkins! Perhaps I’ll turn them into pumpkin pies after the holiday. Yum! (As if we needed more sweets around this house. We’re both starting to look a little pudgy.)

We had another roll of film developed and some of the pictures turned out really well. We got several shots of Sam grinning. Oh so cute! You can see them here.

halloween plans

A good friend of mine is going to loan Sam a Halloween costume her little boy wore during his first year. It’s Winnie-the-Pooh dressed up as a jack-o-lantern. The costume is designed to fit a six month old baby, but she says we could have Sam wear a sleeper underneath the costume to fill it out. We’re going to dress him up and take him to a studio in the mall to have his portrait done. He’s going to be adorable! (What crazy things we parents subject our children to!)
