Tiger Mountain

Uncategorized January 2nd, 2001

Kira and Ian drug me and Robert up Tiger Mountain today. Nothing like going on a hike with a marine and a navy boy. I thought my lungs were going to burst and my legs were going to fall off. I must get out and get more exercise this year. I’m quickly turning into an old lady! Anyway, the scenery was great and the weather was perfect. The sun actually shone! Such a thing is unheard of in the middle of winter in the Pacific Northwest.

Afterwards, we had dinner at Ian’s family’s home. His father made an exquisite paella. MMMMM!

General January 1st, 2001

Despite the media’s predictions of cataclysm after cataclysm, Y2K was a pretty tame year. No major computer systems crashed nor did we have to break into our stockpile of canned beans and bottled water. In fact, Y2K was a very happy year for us, one we will fondly look back on.

For us, the highlight of the year was our wedding. It was the most beautiful and touching ceremony we could have imagined. Robert and I are truly blessed in one another’s love. We are deeply grateful for our wonderful network of family and friends who have stood by us through thick and thin. We are also happy with our new jobs which have proved both interesting and challenging. Last, but not least, we are tickled to death with the new member of our immediate family: Zora. She is as affectionate and playful as we could have hoped.

We are not celbrating the passing of the year in any special way. We are not dressing up or going out to any big party. But we’re both happy with how we’re spending the time: quiet enjoyment of one another’s company.
