Tigger

30 October, 2000 | Amy | No Comment

Just called the landlord of our former home. She had the nerve to accuse us of scorching the hardwood floors by turning the baseboard heaters up too high. Ha! I distinctly remember pointing out the burn marks when we did our preliminary walk-through. She’s looking for an excuse not to refund our deposit. What a witch. After all the cleaning and painting we have done, we deserve every penny back. The place looks better than it did when we moved in.

On a happier note, Robert took me to look at some kitties up for adoption at the humane society. I thought I would be the one who lost my heart to one of the sweet little felines, but as it turned out, Robert melted at the sight of a small tabby named Tigger. He was taken with Tigger’s sweet face and incredibly soft-looking fur. I’m pretty partial to Tigger myself. (Tigger looks much more prepossessing IRL than she does in this photo.)

My god, I'm exhausted. Robert

My god, I’m exhausted. Robert and I spent the day cleaning out the kitchen and garage of our old house. I feel tainted by all the cobwebs and clouds of dust we stirred up. Ewww! I can hardly imagine anything worse than that garage! We made two trips to the dump and one trip to the Salvation Army to divest ourselves of a gigantic pile of junk. There’s something strangely satisfying about getting rid of of so much detritus. No doubt more will accumulate during the years we spend in this house…giving us the opportunity to re-experience this state of blessedness. Oh joy.

Tomorrow we’re going to see the Seahawks play the Kansas City Chiefs. As you may be able to deduce from my having asked my co-worker if it would be totally out of line for me to take a novel to the game, I’m not a big football fan. Yet there is one major, positive aspect about it. Robert will be detached from Diablo. I might be able to elicit a conversation involving more than a few grunts and nods. Oh wait. We’re going to a FOOTBALL game. The grunts and nods are sure to continue. *lol* I must truly love the brute to put up with so much.

Moving is a pain in the rear

Moving is a pain in the rear. I’m flat out exhausted. As soon as I get a little more energy, I’ll write about the whole ordeal…and hopefully post a picture or two of our new home. It’s terrific.

In the meantime, I’m going to continue browsing through the humane society pages. I’m eager to adopt a kitty grin
