Rrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaattttttttttttsssssssssss!
I had a nice little vacation from the computer. It was not something that I had planned beforehand. It had occurred to me that I had been spending quite a bit of time online and should probably take a break–but I had not actually planned on doing it. No, the break began shortly after a package arrived in the mail. It was my super dooper new motherboard. Ha ha! I have the most amazing computer now. Nothing’s going to stop me…unless the machine turns out to have a mind of its own, like Hal 2000. Wouldn’t that be scary? LOL Anyway, I’ve been reading books, cleaning up the house, cooking dinner and doing all of the things that I should do anyway.
So, things are going well…with the exception of one small problem. Rats. In our garage. Ugh. Yes, we discovered signs of ratlife in our garage not too long ago and put out a trap. The first one we caught was gigantic. It reminded me of the baby kangaroo Sylvester the cat is always getting tangled up with. The second one, which I discovered this morning, was smaller, more fragile looking. I cried when I saw it lying there on the floor. I guess I’m too tender-hearted. I can’t bear to see signs of suffering. At the same time, I just can’t live with rats running around in my house. I’ve told Robert that he really should get me a cat, but he keeps bringing up the minor point that our landlord won’t allow us to keep pets. (Which is worse, I ask myself…rats in the garage or a kitty in the house?…hmmm)
