I've been feeling rotten all
Uncategorized August 16th, 2000
I’ve been feeling rotten all day long. I probably should go lay down, but why waste one moment of free time on something so prosaic as sleep? Oh no, I know how to make the most out of my time. Case in point: I literally spent hours beating my head up against the wall trying to figure out why this blog looked so bad in Netscape. Can you say “memory cache” boys and girls? Eek gad. Not my best moment.
I’ve listened to the news too frequently lately. It’s been giving me nightmares. (One more reason not to go to bed). Imagine, if you will, being stuck at the bottom of the ocean in a submarine. A pretty horrifying thought, isn’t it? Now, consider the fact that the government which sent you there refuses offers to extricate you from that scyllian/charbydissian situation. At that point, I would become obssessed with a single word: d.e.f.e.c.t.i.o.n.
I played happy homemaker today.

I played happy homemaker today. I planted mums in the flowerbed bordering the walkway to our front door, went grocery shopping, baked chocolate chip cookies and prepared a meal. Robert was flabbergasted to find barbecued spareribs, corn on the cob, tabouleh and coleslaw on the table. I was so proud. I nearly cried when he said it was the best he ever had. (The hormones must be getting to me again. I cry at the drop of a hat).
Avidity Dot Net is a very interesting personal site I stumbled onto today. What really piqued my interest was the fact that the creatrix attended the same summer school program at Cambridge that I did. *whistles “It’s a Small World”* And for those of you with an interest in fairies, medievalism and witty commentary, you’ll not want to miss the pages she’s created on said topics.
Home Again, Home Again

My parents are back in their home. I guess everything’s all right with them. However, there are two national guardsmen posted outside their home day and night in case the fire gets too close and they have to pack up and go again. What a living nightmare!
